Bill enriched our lives so much with his incredible depth of knowledge on such a vast range of subjects: history, politics, food, wine, music, to name just a few. I particularly loved talking with Bill because he would always take time to explain things to me, always able to tell me why, and how things got they way they have - he answered all my nitty, gritty questions fully (unlike Simon!). A wonderful man, a loving father and husband, and a good friend. We miss him too. To Andrea, Arabella and Aurelia - you are Bill's finest legacy. Know we are here for you always.
